Learning Opportunities

How is your spirit? What does it mean to truly know God? FPCNC offers ways to enrich a relationship with God through a community of other believers. We are created in God’s image; we are not alone. When we walk this journey together, we thrive. We believe God is present and active in the world, making “all things new” in and through Jesus Christ (Revelation 21:5).

Special Church

Thursdays from 3:30 – 5:00 pm
Bliss House Common Room

Special Church is a program for adults and teenagers with Special Needs.  The group gathers for fellowship and spirituality every Thursday during the academic year.  We begin with fellowship time as we all gather and share news of our week’s activities.  We then work on a craft project which is often linked to the church calendar, and of course, music is a very important part of the Special Church.

For more information on Special Church, contact Wendy in the Church Office at 203-966-0002 (ext. 1).

LABYRINTHS

Labyrinths offer an opportunity to journey into the center and back out again on a single path. Without the need to make choices, you can settle into a natural state of meditation and pay attention to your pace, your breathing and your thoughts. This workshop will allow women to come together in a half-day retreat to experience both the Classical 7-circuit and the 11-circuit Chartres Cathedral labyrinths set to lovely music in a gorgeous, quiet setting. A brief history of labyrinths, an explanation of the “rules of the road” and a demonstration of how to draw them will be given by Helen Curry, author of The Way of the Labyrinth, who will be the leader for the afternoon.

We look forward to welcoming you to a special day, just for you, to slow down, recharge, connect and gain new perspectives through the experience of walking meditation.

Prayer at Our Church

God’s people are called to pray. In all circumstances, God calls us to “pray without ceasing” (Thessalonians 5:17).

As a community of believers, we pray together. Prayer is as essential to our spiritual well-being as breathing is to our physical health. If you have a prayer request or would like more information about prayer at FPCNC, please contact Stacy Arevalo at sarevalo@fpcnc.org.
