Mission

Year after year, our congregation identifies and supports programs designed to aid the disadvantaged in our local, regional, national and global communities.  From our direct financial support to the more than 1,000 volunteer hours contributed to various programs and projects, those of us who have more than we need feel so blessed to be able to help those in need.

Cents-ability

This program reminds us of how fortunate we are to have food while others do not by encouraging FPCNC parishioners to donate their spare change. Cents-Ability proceeds go to the New Canaan Food Bank, the Fairfield County Food Bank and the Presbyterian Church (USA) Hunger Relief program.

Filling in the Blanks

This organization is devoted to ensuring that students in area public school have subsidized weekday lunch programs that have 4-6 nutritious non-perishable meals to take home so they’re not hungry over the weekend.

Meals on Wheels

With several FPCNC parishioners serving as delivery volunteers, Meals on Wheels of New Canaan, Inc.is dedicated to providing nutritious meals to residents of New Canaan whose physical, emotional, mental, medical or social condition makes it difficult to provide these meals for themselves.

New Canaan Food Pantry

FPCNC regularly collects from its congregation non-perishable food items for the New Canaan Food Pantry, which provides them to qualified individuals and families living in New Canaan. The pantry, located at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, is open every other Tuesday with a one-hour morning and evening distribution time.

New Covenant House
Every year we shop for, prepare and serve about 1200 meals a year at the New Covenant House soup kitchen in Stamford.
Special Church

Special Church is a program for adults and teenagers with special needs. Each weekly session begins with fellowship time as we all gather and share news of our week’s activities.  We then work on a craft project which is often linked to the church calendar, and of course, music is a very important part of Special Church. This group gathers in the Bliss House Common Room for fellowship and spiritual growth on Thursdays from 3:30 – 5:00 PM. For more information on Special Church, contact Wendy in the Church Office at 203-966-0002 (ext. 1).
