“There’s No Place Like Home: Staying Put in New Canaan”
Gina Z. Blum – Executive Director of Staying Put in New Canaan, will discuss why do people want to stay put in New Canaan? “There’s No Place Like Home: Staying Put in New Canaan” highlights why so many older adults choose to remain in New Canaan as they age—and how the community makes that possible. With its strong sense of belonging, safety, and exceptional quality of life, New Canaan is an ideal place to grow older with independence, dignity, and connection.
The talk emphasizes the essential services provided by Staying Put in New Canaan, a nonprofit organization that helps seniors live independently in their own homes. These services include transportation, home maintenance support, tech help, social activities, and access to trusted resources—all aimed at enhancing well-being and reducing isolation.
Friends and parishioners of First Presbyterian are warmly invited to get involved by joining, volunteering, or supporting Staying Put. Whether it’s giving a neighbor a ride, helping with minor repairs, or simply sharing time and conversation, your involvement can make a real difference—and strengthen the fabric of our community
