Dionna has lived in New Canaan with her husband David for over 27 years and two of her three children were raised in New Canaan and graduated from NCPS. Dionna was elected to serve on the Board of Education from 2013-2021 and was unanimously elected as Chair from 2015-2018. While a member of the Board of Education she served as its Resources Committee Chair (Finance and Budget), was a member of the Contracts Negotiation Team for the teachers’ union (twice) and the district bus contract, testified against regionalization at a state legislative public hearing, and was a member of the Superintendent and Manager of Finance and Operations Search Committees. Dionna graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign with a B.S. in Finance with High Honors, is a graduate of the GE Capital Financial Management Program, and was a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Charterholder from 1999-2009. Dionna is currently the Senior Deacon at the Congregational Church of New Canaan, Vice-Regent of the Hannah Benedict Carter Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution and has held numerous leadership roles in local non-profits..
