FPCNC is honored to welcome Wayne Te Brake to present a talk on Religious Peace from his new book on Sunday, December 4th from 11:45am-1:00pm in the Common Room.  A light lunch will be served. Childcare will be provided. Please RSVP to the church office.

Wayne Te Brake studied history at Calvin College, the Free University of Amsterdam, and the University of Michigan. He is Professor Emeritus of History at Purchase College, State University of New York, where he taught European history for thirty-six years. He has been a visiting professor at Erasmus University Rotterdam, the École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales in Paris, Yale University, and the Chinese University of Hong Kong; a senior research fellow at the Leibniz Institute of European History in Mainz, Germany; and a research fellow at the Netherlands Institute for Advanced Study. His most recent book, Religious Peace, Then and Now, applies his research on religious war and religious peace in Europe to our understanding of religious conflict and the prospect of religious peace today. A resident of Ossining, New York, he is a Presbyterian elder and a member of the Presbyterian Church of Mount Kisco.  Wayne’s book is available through Amazon if you want to review it before December 4.
