For his Eagle Scout project for Boy Scouts, church member Spencer Reeves is organizing and leading a charitable drive for Integrated Refugee & Immigrant Services (IRIS) of New Haven.  IRIS is a faith-based organization that coordinates the bulk of the refugee relocations into the state of Connecticut. Last month, our church and the First Presbyterian Church of Stamford worked with IRIS to resettle the Abo Noktah family to Stamford. Spencer’s drive, entitled (BF)2, encourages New Canaanites to be a “Best Friend” to the refugees by giving them items that will help them feel safe, warm, and welcome: Blankets, Balls, First-Aid Kits, and Fire Extinguishers. Please bring your item(s) (with your name attached so we know whom to thank) and put in the large box in the entryway by the church office. Spencer will be collecting items through Sunday, October 23rd. Thank you for your support!
