In Church Activities, HSYG, Youth Group Activities

As part of the exuberant celebration of Scottish Sunday on May 1, 2016, our Youth who are preparing for the Pilgrimage to Iona, Scotland this summer were commissioned by the church to represent our congregation and community in this important journey.

This Trip is scheduled for summer 2016, and is for members of the HSYG (High School Youth Group) who have completed Confirmation.

As we live communally, we will participate in walks and expeditions, arts & crafts, discovering the natural environment of Iona, social events and ceilidhs (a traditional Gaelic social gathering, which usually involves playing Gaelic folk music and dancing), and a specially planned program for our pilgrimage experience, creating space for prayer and reflection. This is an opportunity to practice living justice, peace, and integrity in a small community in order to bring social and spiritual change to our church, city, country and world when we return.

(Note: This Mission Trip is fully registered. To be placed on a Waiting List should someone drop out, please e-mail
