Guest Preacher & Pastors’ Forum

Welcoming persecuted people from other countries is an ancient and universal custom. In the United States it is one of our most noble traditions.

Chris George - IRISChris George, the Executive Director of IRIS – Integrated Refugee and Immigrant Services – will be our guest preacher next Sunday, April 17th, and following worship he will lead a Pastor’s Forum in the Common Room.

IRIS resettles approximately 200 refugees each year, helping them and other displaced people establish new lives, regain hope, and contribute to the vitality of Connecticut’s communities. IRIS is part of the Immigration and Refugee Program of Church World Service, and a program of the Episcopal Church in Connecticut and the local affiliate of Episcopal Migration Ministries.

We are partnering with the FISH Church (First Presbyterian/Stamford) in sponsoring a refugee family through IRIS.  If you would like to be part of the refugee resettlement committee, please contact Lynn Quinn or Scott Beyer.
