Dear Congregation,

As we prepare to say goodbye to Reverend Paul, and wish him and Jeannick all joy in their future, its appropriate we look back on his years of service to our church and give our thanks for all his efforts on our behalf.

Many of us, individually or as families, have been helped by Paul’s ministry in times of trouble or heartache. His calm and empathetic presence has helped us move forward with hope and confidence. Together we have shared life’s joys and sorrows. He has led the staff well within a challenging expense environment and assisted Session in getting our financial house in order. Most importantly, he has provided us with wisdom and inspiration from the pulpit in sermon and prayer. Paul has done much for our church; we will greatly miss his warmth and compassion.
An important tradition in our church when saying goodbye after long service is for the congregation to contribute to a ‘purse’ as a tangible token of our blessing (and to assist in the many costs of moving, etc.). Please help send Paul off right and show our appreciation by using the Paypal link below, or sending a check payable to ‘First Presbyterian Church of New Canaan’ and note ‘Paul’s Purse’.

We will present Paul with the purse during the January 14th service but any monies received after will be forwarded to him in Illinois.

Thank you and God bless you all,
The Session and Board of Deacons
