Blessing Tree: November 27th – December 25th
Children and Youth Mission Project
This winter we hope you will consider helping K-12 students in Fairfield County who come from low income homes.
There are two ways to help:
1) by providing a pair of mittens, hats, or used (or new) children’s coats and fleeces for ages K-12 with the Horizons Student Enrichment Program, and hanging them on the coat-rack in the common room by the Blessing Tree.
The Horizons Student Enrichment Program builds brighter futures for K-12 students from low-income families in Fairfield County by creating year-round academic, cultural and athletic opportunities, cultivating a safe and supportive community, nurturing potential, and inspiring individual dreams. For more information on this organization, please visit horizonskids.org.
2) by purchasing an ornament from our Blessing Tree in exchange for a $25 pre-paid Visa or Master Card (c/o Rev. Kibbie or the church office) for the 10 boys who live at Domus House in Stamford, CT.
The gift card will help them to purchase toiletries, boots, and a winter coat. Domus operates a group home for homeless boys who are wards of the state of CT and seeks to provide them with a loving, warm, and supportive environment so they can complete high school. Our youth groups cook for them once a month and we would like to provide them with the means to purchase basic necessities. For more information on this organization, please visit domuskids.org
